Cases that can be referred for specialized evaluation

Complex injuries of the elbow, forearm, hand, and wrist
Acute upper-extremity trauma or post-traumatic sequelae
Tendon or peripheral nerve injuries, including paresthesias or persistent neurologic symptoms not responsive to initial management (e.g., thoracic outlet syndrome; ulnar, radial, or median nerve involvement, CRP)
Fractures with functional impairment
Upper-extremity infections
Evaluation for reconstructive microsurgery
Persistent upper-extremity pain associated with functional limitation
Patients with connective tissue disorders, including Ehlers–Danlos syndrome and joint hypermobility
Pregnant or breastfeeding patients with hand or wrist pain
Patients requiring specialized consultation in hand surgery

How can you refer a patient

Inform the patient that you will be referring them for evaluation with Dr. Arroyo (office located in Santa Fe, Mexico City).
Provide the patient with a referral summary and relevant diagnostic studies, when available.
Contact us to notify Dr. Arroyo of the referral and your diagnostic considerations.
If you would like recommendations regarding diagnostic studies for the patient to complete prior to the consultation, please contact us directly.
